For us “message” is a big tent. It’s everything that we want to understand and deliberately shape in our lives, be it an environment, a wrapper, a process, an identity, a service, a product, an experience, or an offer.

We are a design studio, so naturally we believe design is a super power. We think of it this way, if human action and decision-making are based in emotion, and design is the understanding and deliberate use of emotional cues and triggers, then design is the essential activity that drives individual, organizational, and societal movement. Call it self evolution.
Like all super powers, we wish this one could be used only for good. 30 years of being in business as a design firm has taught us the importance of generosity, empathy, humor, curiosity, honesty, delight, surprise, authenticity, intelligence, kindness, enthusiasm, and love in all human endeavors. We’ve come to the conviction that all the characteristics we would ideally want in ourselves and the people around us are all the same characteristics that inform the most effective design work.
